It’s about time for an update to what I’ve been doing.
I just finished mixing 5 songs, for Zebra (the Long Island band) with Jack Douglas. Coming up, with Jack, are some more mixes for RTZ. He’s Robin Zander’s son (from Cheap Trick), and he’s an amazing talent.
On July 10th, 2025 I recorded a fun project for Migiwa Miyajima, and am mixing it right now. It’s 6 saxophones, including the talented Dick Oatts (alto/soprano), 5 other amazing sax players, and Miggy playing piano and vocalizing. I must mention the other players, because they are all top notch. Carl Maraghi (bari/alto), Ron Blake (bari/tenor), Quinsin Nachoff (tenor), Steve Wilson (soprano/alto) and Andrew Gould (alto). Miggy writes, and arranges, all the material. We recorded at Samurai Hotel Recoding Studio, in Astoria, and I’m mixing at West End Sound (my studio).
I’m also mixing a project for Tomoko Nia, at West End Sound. Tomo is a really good singer, with the sensitivity of a true artist. The name of her band is Orange Pekoe. This is all being very well recorded in Tokyo.
